Sano. learn languages through play
About Sano
Small steps. Playful discoveries.
Sano helps children explore languages through play, with friendly companions, spoken examples and activities to try together. Choose English or Nepali, choose a companion, and explore at your own pace.
Sano is founded, created and owned by Samir Sharma. Our aim is simple: learn languages through play.
What can we explore?
- Letters, sounds, spelling and numbers, including zero.
- Maths activities with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Colours, shapes, days, months, weather and nature.
- Music with piano, guitar and drums, and playful learning games.
- Nepal’s places, food, flowers, plants, animals, birds and festivals.
- Listen-and-repeat practice and supported speaking activities with Talk to Sano.
Easy, medium and hard choices help you pick a comfortable starting point. English and Nepali are the languages currently offered; more languages are part of Sano’s future plans.
Play on your screen
Open the Sano website on a phone, tablet or computer. Touch controls are available on touchscreens; supported games also offer keyboard or mouse controls on computers. Some device features differ between the website and separately built mobile apps.
The current website is open for testing. Real-money payments are not connected. App-store release and school licensing are still being prepared.
For parents and teachers
Explore together, celebrate small steps and use the grown-up controls for sound, motion and learning progress. Play and speaking practice are learning activities, not a certified assessment of pronunciation or educational attainment.
Read our help page for device and sound guidance, or the privacy notice for how the current edition handles data.
